What does tiling cost in 2026?

All guide prices in one place: labour per m², the complete bathroom and standalone jobs — plus the 5 factors that drive the price.

A tiler's labour in 2026 averages € 25 to € 60 per m². Laying floor tiles costs € 25 to € 45 per m² for straight work; wall tiling € 30 to € 60 per m². The tiles themselves come on top, unless you agree a price including material.

The biggest job is the bathroom: for floor and walls complete you pay € 2,000 to € 6,000 including tiles. Where you land in that band depends on the number of m², the size and the pattern — large-format and herringbone sit at the top, straight work with standard tiles at the bottom.

Don't forget the preparation: tiles need a level, dry and sound surface. Levelling costs € 10 to € 20 per m² extra, and removing old tiles or floor covering comes on top. Small jobs have their own band: tile repair — loose tiles, grout or sealant edges — costs € 150 to € 750 per repair.

Always request multiple quotes: for exactly the same job, differences between companies run into double-digit percentages. Set every quote against the price index and check whether preparation, adhesive and grouting work and disposal of demolition material are included before you agree.
